What happened in 2021
The inaugural year of the WWS tour in 2021 displayed fireworks from beginning to end. At the 1st stop in Fischlham, Austria, Canada’s Dorien Llewellyn and Great Britain’s Robert Hazelwood battled down to the wire, with Dorien only pulling ahead in Overall race in the final moments of the event during his last trick pass. In the women’s event, Giannina Bonnemann looked unstoppable and dominated each event, leading to her being crowned the 2021 WWS Overall Tour Champion and the favorite to win the Overall title at the World Championships later in the year.At the 2nd and final stop of the 2021 tour, Great Britain’s Joel Poland and Canada’s Dorien Llewellyn continued their unprecedented rivalry all the way through the three events in West Palm Beach, Florida. Joel was able to claim the event title over Dorien by a narrow margin and thereby finishing 3rd in the Tour Rankings. Rob Hazelwood would round out the podium to finish the year 2nd in the Rankings, with Dorien winning the first WWS Overall Tour Title.
With two additional stops added to the 2022 calendar and an expanded field of the sport’s greatest athletes, potentially adding talents like Louis Duplan-Fribourg, Tanguy Dialland, Paige Rini, Sasha Daniashevskaya, and Regina Jaquess. Looking ahead there will be even more excitement with more competitors eyeing the title of the greatest all around skier on Earth
