What happened in 2023
As we reflect on the electrifying 2023 season, it's impossible not to be swept up in the anticipation for what lies ahead in the 2024 WWS Overall World Tour. Last year was nothing short of spectacular, with jaw-dropping performances, record-breaking feats, and unforgettable moments on the water.
Joel Poland emerged as a dominant force, clinching victory with a world-record-breaking performance at the Florida Cup. His unparalleled skill and determination set the stage for an epic showdown in the upcoming season. Alongside him, Louis Duplon-Fribourg's triumphant win at the World Championships and Dorien Llewellyn's return from injury add layers of intrigue and excitement to the mix. With Joel aiming to defend his title, Louis hungry for more success, and Dorien eager to reclaim his throne, the stage is set for a fierce battle among these titans of the sport.
On the women's side, Giannina Bonnemann's undefeated streak in 2023 left fans in awe. However, with Giannina expecting a baby and sitting out the 2024 season, the women's competition is wide open. Rising stars and seasoned veterans alike will be vying for the top spot, promising an unpredictable and thrilling contest.
As we eagerly await the start of the 2024 tour, the anticipation is palpable. With records on the brink of being shattered, rivalries ready to reignite, and a new generation of athletes ready to make their mark, the 2024 WWS Overall World Tour is set to deliver another season of heart-stopping action, jaw-dropping performances, and unforgettable moments on the water.
