The Event

The Grand Prix Pro-Am is a team event. Each team will consist of one “Pro” and two “Amateur” participants. Amateurs may sign up in pairs or individually (should they sign up indiviadually, their partner will be drawn out of a hat). Pros will be randomly assigned to amateur teams the day before the event begins. The generated teams will compete in three different events: waterskiing, go karting and skeet shooting. Each event will contribute to an overall team score which will ultimately crown the 2023 Travers Grand Prix Pro Am Team champions.

Forget everything you know about traditional water skiing events – the Travers Grand Prix is in a league of its own! This one-of-a-kind competition brilliantly merges the intensity of professional slalom skiing with the thrill of skeet shooting and go-kart racing. It’s the ultimate blend of adrenaline and fun, where pros and amateurs join forces in an unforgettable team format!

The excitement kicks off as teams are carefully crafted, with handicaps based on each participant’s personal best, making it anyone’s game. While the amateurs dive into the fun, the pros will be battling for serious cash in a nail-biting two-round slalom showdown, leading to a high-stakes 8-person final.

But this event isn’t just about the fierce competition – it’s about pure joy. Picture smiles around the lake, cheers on the course and high-speed action on the race track. The Travers Grand Prix is more than just an event – it’s an experience every thrill-seeker should have on their bucket list!

Additional Rules:

Your score is Based off your average buoy count minus 6 buoys (for example if pro average is 4@10.25 on IWWF World Ranking then for the TGP his average will be 4@10.75) if th skier scores anything above 4@10.75 then it’s a positive number anything less than 4@10.75 is a negative number. Then we will take the two amateurs best single score out of the three rounds and average it with the best Pro’s score to get a team score ( for example amateur 1 average for the event is 2@12 and he’s best score is 4@12 then he has a plus 2 and for the second amateur his average is 4@11 and he’s best score is 4@11 then he’s scored 0 , pro has a plus 3 as his best round so we will average the three score like 2+0+3 = 5. We will do this for each team and seed each team the team with the highest points will be first.
