Covert Wake Jam (Wakeboard/Wakeskate Registration)

Kick off your competition season at the annual Covert Wake Jam. This is event is hosted by the Vancouver Water Ski Club which is located in Bedwell Bay close to Deep Cove and Port Moody. It is boat access only. Pick up and drop off in Deep Cove, North Vancouver at the Deep Cove Government Dock. You must notify Teri Taylor by noon Saturday if you need a ride over. Event start time is 8am.
Online registration closes at 12pm Saturday, June 28th. NOTE - THERE IS A NEW REGSISTRATION SYSTEM THIS YEAR. SEE BELOW ON HOW TO REGISTER!
The event will feature the following:
- Events: Wakeboard and Wakeskate
- There will be a fun Wakesurf set if time permits - this will not be part of the competition
- There are two rounds of wakeboard and wakeskate. First round determines rider order for final round.
- Medals for top 3
- Great draw prizes
- Bring your own lunch/food. We will not be doing a bbq this year but there is a bbq at the club if you want to bbq.
- There is no potable water so please bring your own water/drinks
Ticket Details: Wakeboard & Wakeskate – Cost is $45 for one event and an additional $15 for two events
- One event - Wakeboard - $45
- One event - Wakeskate - $45
- Two events - Wakeboard and Wakeskate - $60
- Wakesurf – Cost is $25 - you will sign up for this at the event site and pay either by cash or etransfer. The wake surf will be a fun event and not a competition this year.
Here are the steps to register for wakeboard and wakeskate competition:
1) You must have a WSWC membership in order to compete. You will also need a profile in the IWWF/EMS system.
2) IF YOU DO NOT HAVE A PROFILE in the IWWF/EMS system you must set up one before you can register. To do that, you need to email me with your name and email address to [email protected] and a link will be sent to you. THIS MUST BE DONE BY THURSDAY at midnight in order to receive your IWWF/EMS user invite.
3) An IWWF/EMS user invite will be sent to you to set up your profile. Please check your junk mail, if you don’t see the link.
4) If you do have an EMS profile already, go to the IWWF site and login to your EMS account - https://ems.iwwf.sport/Account/Login
5) Select the member you want to register (If you have a family account you will see multiple names - you will need to logout and do this process for each individual you want to register)
6) On the menu on the left side choose “MY COMPETITIONS”
7) Click the “+ new participation”
8) In the filter you can type in Canada, the discipline and the date of the competition
9) Once the list of competitions shows up, click on the SELECT button on the RIGHT side to add this completion
10) Complete the registration information for the events you would like to participate in. Please note the system gives you three options are 1) Open, 2) Intermediate Open and 3) Novice Open. Just pick “open”. The system categories are not correct for Canada so we will go off your birthdate. Then hit SUBMIT
*Please note there is an issue with the system. If you want to do wakeboard and wakeskate, you will need to select both and then submit and then go back in through the edit button and reselect one of the events. For some reason the system does select both on the first try. I am working on trying to get this fixed but don’t think it will be before the event.
11) To finalize this process please send an e-transfer to [email protected] (1 event: $45/ 2 events: $60) with a note to Teri identifying what the E-transfer is for ie: (Covert Wake Jam – and your name) in the notes. Etransfer must be received by Saturday, June 28th at noon in order to compete.
12) Due to the new system there will be no onsite registration on the day of the event!
