2022 CALGARY CUP WWS OVERALL TOUR & THE SILVER SLALOM EVENT

Calgary

Coming off the 1st tour stop in France, the WorldWaterSkiers Overall Tour will make its 2nd stop in the great white north of Canada. Calgary, the home of Calgary Stampede, one of the largest Rodeo on the planet, will play host to the men and women of the overall tour at the site of the 2009 World Water Ski Championships, The Lakes of Cast in Stone/Predator Bay. Predator Bay has held both national and international events on all levels of the sport, boasting a list of multiple Canadian National Championships, as well as the Calgary Pro Shootout. The picturesque lakes, surrounded by trees and wildlife on all sides, will give the overall skiers another brilliant opportunity to not only compete against one another for valuable tour points but also to experience one of the most beautiful lakes in the entire world. Be sure to check out the schedule for when all the special event gatherings will take place and make sure to reserve your spot on the shore so you do not miss the action!

ATTENTION ****PARKING /ENTRY PASS

The Event is FREE but we will require every car driving into the site to have a PARKING PASS. This helps us understand how many people will be attending the event. FRIDAY

Friday will feature 1st Round of the Silver Slalom Event. An exciting component to the Overall Event is an LCQ round for those overall skiers trying to make 1 spot into the Overall Prelims. We will also feature our best Junior Overall skiers at this event as we showcase their skills, and we look to see them one day in the main Overall Tour Stop.

Friday evening, we will host a privet event at Willow Park Wines and Spirits for our athletes, officials, volunteers, sponsors, and donors to give thanks.

SATURDAY

Saturday morning will feature a 2nd Round for the Silver Slalom participants, and the best scores based on speed divisions and some other criteria will put some of these slalom skiers into a Finals on Sunday. We will host one of the stops of the Vern Oberg Legacy Fund Rec Tour Stops, featuring our young up-and-coming kids as they compete in a mini-course event.

Saturday afternoon at 2 pm the Prelims for the Overall Skiers and the top 6 Men and 4 Women will qualify to compete in the FINALS on Sunday.

SUNDAY

Sunday will be a full day starting with the 2nd Round of Slalom for our LCQ skiers followed by the 2nd Round of Jump for our LCQ Skiers. From there we move into some Slalom featuring some of our best overall skiers followed by the Silver Slalom Finalists.

The highlight of the weekend is the Red Bull Finals which will commence at 3 pm, featuring the Top 6 Men and the Top 4 Women as they compete to be the Overall Winner of this Stop # 2 on the WWS Overall Tour. They will look to claim the top spot, pick up a pay cheque and earn points toward the WWS Tour Championship.

The event will be a LIVE webcast, so if you cannot be on-site, you can take part in watching the best overall skiers compete. This is the main event and will be a three-hour amazing show. If you wish to be on-site and watch this great event unfold, a VIP experience will be available through the sponsors and the Predator Bay Club, where you can watch under the tents, mingle with the athletes, get fed, and have some drinks along the shoreline.

The evening on-site will feature the award ceremony of the WWS Overall Tour and slalom champions. We will celebrate the 25 years of Predator Bay as a club and just hang out with our water ski friends for the evening.

We look forward to many of our friends competing in this event and also celebrating our 25-year history and of course, watching the World’s Best Overall Skiers compete!
