About : Abenaki Water Ski Club
Located in Wolfeboro’s Back Bay, the Abenaki Water Ski Club is proud to be New Hampshire’s only site where slalom, tricks and jumping competitions are held. Founded in 1959 with roots in show skiing, AWSC evolved over the years to become the well-known Eastern Region 3-event water ski site it is today. While the club had multiple sites throughout its history, AWSC has maintained its current location since moving the slalom course from Winter Harbor to Back Bay in 1981. Since its inception, AWSC has been a home site to a number of nationally ranked and champion skiers including former slalom world record holder & pro skier, Jamie Beauchesne, and continues to have skiers compete Regionals and Nationals. Although the ski shows ended in 2000, if you’re walking along the Bridge Falls Path or enjoying a meal at the Wolfetrap or the Bayside Grill & Tavern, you might catch a glimpse of club members carving around buoys in the slalom course or riding over the jump throughout the summer months.
